The patented strain relief provides a gentle radius of curvature at the end reducing sharp angles and helps minimize fiber breakage. The cable jacketing and strain relief are made of a superior grade of silicone especially for use in the medical field. It is less prone to internal fiber breakage.

The hermetically sealed cable is flash autoclavable. No moisture from autoclaving can penetrate and damage the glass fibers because it is a closed system. All cables can be sterilized up to 270°F for 3 minutes. Highly polished end fittings ensure maximum light transmission and are potted with proprietary high temperature epoxy filler that is ideal for quartz/xenon light sources.

Each cable is permanently marked with an etched lot number and or serial number for easy traceability and quality assurance control. A private autoclavable label can be affixed to the strain relief for better identification.

Techman offers a family of light sources for a variety of surgical applications. They are utilized in operating rooms and doctor examination rooms found in clinics, hospitals, and surgi-centers. The Techman light source can be used with any standard ACMI fiberoptic cable to illuminate a variety of surgical instruments, headlights, scopes, or other equipment. Techman's colposcopes provide improved visualization in detailed examinations, providing the physician with greater diagnostic accuracy and diagnosticians with a means of early detection of cervical cancer, carcinomas, carcinoma in situ and dysphasic.

Techman offers a Digital Video Camera System for use with the surgical Microscopes, and colposcopes The Camera System requires both the Beam Splitter and CCD Video Camera Adapter accessories. The system consists of Toshiba 1/2" CCD Color Camera, Toshiba Color Camera Controller, Two Meter Extension Cable, and Toshiba Controller Power Supply.

Both the surgical microscopes and colposcopes have a one year warranty.

Instruments

Techman offers a full line of illuminated surgical instruments for medical examination needs. The surgeon can easily guide a bright intense light in their line of vision without getting in the way or get blinded by the light source. All instruments are equipped with an industry standard male ACMI cable connection. An included female cable adapter allows for easy cable connections with a swivel action.

Retractors

Designed and built with the plastic surgeon and otolaryngology surgeon in mind. A lighted retractor makes the surgeon's job much easier, enhancing tissue exposure with cold fiberoptic light. The silicone handle give the user a firm grip without the slipping normally found when using metal handles. A fiberoptic cable connects on the rear of the instrument, away from people's hands and other instruments. The blades are made of an incredibly strong stainless steel that won't warp or bend during use. Techman stocks a wide variety of blade widths and lengths and can also custom make to your requirements.

Headlights

Techman offers a choice of headlights to suit any medical examination need. Adjustments allow surgeons to easily control a well defined spot of light in their line of vision, even while wearing loupes. A stainless steel joystick permits repositioning of the headlight under sterile conditions and be removed for sterilization. A fiberoptic cable clips onto either the left, right or top, and rear sides of the headband. The headband adjusts from 21" up to 25" circumference. They come equipped with an industry standard female ACMI cable connection along with user. Techman offers over 50 different cables to choose from for use with headlights.

VideoCam Headlight System

Techman offers a patented image transmission system consisting of a unique integration of a headlight illumination system with a miniature CCD color video camera. Together they offer a clear view of what exactly the wearer sees. Weighing in at less than 6 ounces and having a one handed variable headband size adjustment, it is very comfortable to wear. It can be connected to a remote monitor, a VCR, or any another video monitoring station. When used with the supplied PC video card, the user can transmit up to 30fps of full motion video over the Internet or LAN in a full 640x480 screen image. With the optional A/V transmitter, the user can roam freely without any wired connection up 300 feet. The headlight also features a replaceable internal sweatband for easy cleaning.
